FIGHTING STYLES
-[ Basically, every superstar has two styles (out of a possible eight) that represent their personality. John Cena’s a Showman and Brawler: Lashley’s a Powerhouse and Brawler. ]-
-[ After picking your wrestler, you choose which of their styles will be the “main” one for the upcoming match - this unlocks a special ability ]-
–
-[ But that’s not all: each style has secondary abilities to use too. Powerhouse, for instance, lets you power out of any pin if you’ve got a stored finisher. Brawler let’s you throw strikes in complicated combinations, or “mount” your opponent UFC-style and drop headbutts on them with the analogue stick. Dirty fighters are more complicated to use: they can cower behind the ref, or argue with him after a two count. ]-
-[ All the abilities combine to make each wrestler play more like their on-screen counterpart. But the best bit of it all? If you’re playing as a hardcore wrestler, you can grab a chair and deliberately smash yourself in the face until you bleed. The trick is when you see blood, you get excited: so you fight much better. Now that’s hardcore ]-
-[ You can choose to steel an opponent’s taunt anytime with a Showman character - if you pull it off, you’ll steal their momentum, but if they hit you during the move you’ll lose all of yours. ]-
CROWD FIGHTING
-[ As in the last Smackdown, wrestlers can grab signs from fans in the crowd and either wave them triumphantly, or rip them up, depending on how they’re feeling. ]-
-[ Crowds are also packed with a wider range of weapons this time out: we managed to grab an acoustic guitar off one excitable local and pull of the classic “El Kabong” Big Red Machine. Yeah! ]-
-[ If you hit the D-pad to taunt while you’re close to th crowd, your wrestler will lean against the barrier and bask in the adulation as they pat his shoulders. Mmm, inappropriate touching could land you in trouble. ]-
-[ You can also lob wrestlers into the crowd and watch the hooting fans part like the Red Sea. And occasionally spill their beer. ]-
HARDCORE
-[ Pressing Y with a finger will make wrestlers set the barbed-wire bat on fire. No flaming tables yet though… ]-
-[ There are no count-outs or disqualifications in the ECW rules: the refs even wear black so as to remain inconspicuous, it seems… ]-
OTHER STUFF
-[ The clippings been mostly eliminated, so you won’t be seeing the wrestlers slip through each other ghost-style. ]-
-[ The wrestlers looks like they are actually waling now - there’s no more “moon walking” across the floor. ]-
-[ Expressions are more lifelike than ever - wrestlers will squeal when they;re put in a submission or growl when they’re gearing up for a submission. ]-
-[ECW Hardcore Rules matches with ten different wrestlers. ]- I don’t know if it means ten men on screen.
-[ They’ve fixed the stamina system! Wrestlers still get tired, but there’s no need to press select all the time. ]-
THINGS I NOTICED IN THE SCREENS
- The camera angle seems to have changed again when fighting in the ring. Looks as if the ramp is straight ahead at the top of the screen how it used to be.
- The camera angle has also changed in the crowd area. The area where the scaffold was is now towards the bottom of the screen.
- The non-spinner WWE championship is in the game.
- The Hell in a Cell has not been made bigger.
- Weapon System is more advanced, ECW Superstars are more vicious now once wielding a weapon…Some moves are, Stomping on your opponents head inbetween the folds of a steel chair. A Conchairto and more to come. Steel Steps are also being given improvement as you can now inflict moves such as Powerbombs, Facecrushers (most likely) onto the steps.
- Weapons you choose using the weapon “selection wheel” can be used with stuff like fire, barbed wire…So now you can actually choose to use a clean Barbed Wire Bat…or a Bat on fire. You can seriously kill your opponent using that, (No Pun Intended) mischief
- Once bleeding, or being damaged by weapons, you can actually smack yourself in the head with a chair to give yourself momentum. lol.
- Your Superstar has 2 Main Fighting Styles, before Matches, you have the opportunity to choose one of those styles and fight in that style…
- The Right Stick is used while punching in corners to have power in the punches. The more worn out your opponent is while in a Submission hold, he wont be able to get out easily.
